Jasper Conran’s green garden theme for SS16 showcased early on Day 2 at LFW was very well received. The theme ran uniformly across the entire collection. There was a touch of whimsical with ankle grazing ball gowns but simultaneously, there was the ultra modern with structured silhouettes and lots of originality.
The collection encompasses a variety of pieces ranging from slightly more casual ones to the evening-event-targeted sophisticated pieces we have grown to love and expect from this designer. As always, feminine cuts ran throughout the collection but there were also some oversized pieces this season and even some interesting balloon dresses with inserted pockets.
The green garden inspiration had me all excited for another summer – let’s all go and wear green next summer.
