Last weekend the hubby and I celebrated 14 years of dating, 14 years since we shared the first kiss and subsequent start of our relationship. It was also the same weekend where we got engaged. I know many people discount the dating anniversary after marriage but I like to celebrate both. I can’t just discount those initial 9 years in my head, after all that’s when the story really began.
We spent the weekend at the lovely Corinthia Palace & Spa, Attard – such a beautiful place. This remains one of my favourite hotels in Malta, the staff are so helpful and so willing to accommodate and the place is gorgeous. We were quite gluttons – we tried everything – from tea in the lobby, to gorging on the Prosecco and cake they sent us whilst watching TV in the room, to treatments in the spa (body scrub for me, massage for him). to dinner at the scrumptious Rickshaw and of course breakfast buffet.
Some photos of our lovely dinner at Rickshaw. We started our meal with Asian cocktails that were great and thankfully not sickeningly sweet and lots of prawn crackers – my Asian favourite sin.
Starters were duck dumplings and Thai noodles (yes noodles as a starter – I’m special).
Mains were Green curry for me (lovely, creamy texture, felt like it had been slow-cooked for ages) and a duck butter curry for the hubby.
Deserts – Fried ice creammmmmmm
