One of the most memorable moments of my London Fashion Week trip was my dinner date at Corinthia London. I’ve been intending to visit this hotel and see what it’s like so when the invitation to dinner at their Italian restaurant Massimo arrived – of course I accepted. The hotel is truly beautiful and luxurious and Massimo restaurant has had no detail spared in terms of service and interior design.
As you can see we started out by ordering wine, a nice deep red was my choice after a long, long day at LFW. Next came food choices. Since it’s an Italian restaurant, we had to start with pasta. I went for Spaghetti Cacio a Pepe with Tartufo which is an interesting take on the classic Roman dish and the hubby went for Orecchiette served with Italian Sausage, turnip and fresh chilli. There’s nothing like a perfectly-cooked and seasoned plate of Italian pasta – I tasted both dishes – delicious!
Based on viewing pleasure alone, I’d say my fritto misto was defeinetely a winner over the hubby’s – Beef Fillet Mignon with Celeriac, Crispy Leek and Chestnut. The texture was great and not at all greasy – loved every mouthful. Loved the simple but effective side of spinach too. He really enjoyed his steak too.
The hubby went for a White Chocolate and Limoncello Cake with Almond Ice Cream whilst I of course stuck to good old chocolate and chose a desert called The Five Senses of Chocolate. It tasted every bit as good as it sounds – I promise.
Had an absolutely brilliant time at Massimo at Corinthia London and can’t wait to go back.
