Last weekend I had the chance to visit and meet something and someone rather extraordinary. I visited Vini e Capricci in Gozo by Abraham and met Abraham himself too. It is always a thrill of mine to meet self-made entrepreneurs, to learn and understand how they’ve built their businesses from the ground up, understand how their vision is always expanding.
Abraham Said’s love for food and vision and his constant search for finding and fulfilling the extraordinary is amazing. Vini e Capricci is above all a concept, a concept that is set to grow further in the coming months. The rationale behind this concept is that of bringing the concept of local fresh produce to all along with specific artisan imported goods and making it possible for all to taste these unique flavours.
Vini e Capricci could be called a shop but it is also possible to sample some special wine in their cellar. Wine is one of their most important items, stocked in a beautiful cellar, specially sourced wines, the purchase of which is all supervised by sommelier Fabien Etienne together with John Bugeja, Brands Development Manager.
They have also created their own line of food products made entirely from local produce – Ogygia. Different jams created especially, a variety of pates, honey and lots more are part of this range.
The concept is set to expand and it in this place, it will possible for guests to sample these wines without committing to buying the entire bottle, to enjoy a sip of luxury cognac or whisky alongside a small helping of caviar. Above all, though Abraham is committed to ensuring that your experience is a great one.
I was also treated to a wonderful lunch prepared especially by Chef George Borg – was a truly lovely experience.
