Last Friday I had a great dinner at a newly opened restaurant in Malta, Broadside Terrace at Corinthia Hotel St. Georges Bay. It used to be the case that life in Malta meant repeatedly visiting the same restaurants and bars, very little if any, new places cropped up. Fast forward to 2018, life has changed but I still feel that sometimes that the one thing we struggle with is establishments that provide multiple options. What I’m always looking for specifically, is places that offer both a cocktail and nibbles experience or a great dining experience. Most times it’s either one or the other. Enter Broadside Terrace and it really hits all the right notes – fantastic, unique cocktails, great food, great bar food menu, stunning view, easy parking and great service.
Easy Parking, Great View, Great Food
I hadn’t heard about the restaurant before last week, it only recently opened so fair enough but I was impressed from the minute I entered. The location is stunning, at the edge of the hotel which of course means a great sea view. The decor is really modern and very much what I’d term ‘in trend’. We were hungry so we decided to have dinner but they have plenty of seating by the bar which allows you to just indulge in cocktails and nibbles. We were lucky enough to have an eclipse as entertainment too!
The Food
The cuisine is Lebanese and mainly grilled – fashion, seafood, meat – yum! When ordering a main course, the starter is complimentary – this is a fantastic platter of dips served with warm pitta bread.
We had some lovely cocktails to start with, mine was a great shade of pink 😀 It was followed by the meze platter below. Next was a chicken dish – charred shish taouk, very tasty with a bit of spice and cooked really well. Kurt opted for the mixed grill and I stole a nice helping of his fillet.
There’s always room for dessert – a trio of chocolate mousse and a lemon tart.
Great evening with great company – I need to go back to Broadside Terrace on a Monday / Thursday / Saturday as apparently there’s live entertainment on those days
