I was recently invited to Sicily for a mini holiday in Taormina and shopping experience at Sicilia Outlet Village. I’ve received many different questions about what the outlet village is like so I’m going to tackle them in this post with a list of tips and thoughts. The great thing about Sicily is that it’s so close to Malta and so accessible. We had a wonderful day in Taormina before going to the village and it’s easy to do the same kind of holiday with places like Siracusa and Noto. Spend a few days roaming around Sicily and end it with a shopping haul at the outlet village.
- Number of Shops?
There are approx. 150 stores (yes that many) and they range between high street to luxury stores, all at discounted prices.
2. Which Luxury Brands Are There?
At the top of the food chain, there’s Gucci, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace and Etro. Then there’s also Tods, Hogan, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Elisabetta Franchi, Ralph Lauren, Pinko and many more…..
3. Is it Nice?
Finding something nice is subjective but I loved it! It is designed as a super cute village, like being on a movie set or in a theme park.
4. What Did you Buy?
Too many things, my credit card is still complaining – check out my unboxing video here.
5. When Should I go? When are the Sales?
You can go at any time of year but July and August is particularly good, the new collections are in and there are extra sales on the current, older collection.
6. What Should I look for?
Well, it depends 🙂 but when outlet shopping one of the best things you can do is buy yourself a classic, expensive handbag that will never ever look dated and will stand the test of time. Special occasion dresses are also a brilliant idea as are wallets, shoes (Tods for instance) and well of curse there’s even every day, ‘more general’ stuff that can be found at really cheap prices.
7. When are you Going Again?
Soooooon, the hubby wants me to take him now.
The experience at Sicilia Outlet Village was really great, I loved it and can’t wait to go again.
