Throughout this strange period of #self-isolation, a few #silverlinings have started to emerge and one of these is definitely the fact that Malta has emerged in full-strength as an online marketplace. From local entrepreneurs to larger-scale businesses, suddenly local online shopping either through e-commerce platforms or simply through social media messages is having its moment.
I’m starting with Beauty as the first Category. This will be by no means an exhaustive list of everything and anything you can buy but I’m going to list some of my favourite places and what I think you guys would like.
- Mint Wellness
This shop is focused on wellness products, products that put health, sustainability and the right ingredients at the forefront of their mission. Each brand found at this online store is selected with a purpose and is of premium quality. You can find their online store here.
2. Soap Cafe
Sometimes I end up forgetting about this place. Charly’s cafe was possibly the first of its kind on the island. It first became popular for its wonderful selection of handmade soaps but later expanded to offer customised skincare, hair care and a wonderful range of sustainable, eco-friendly accessories. If you’ve never tried a soap cafe soap then you’re really in for a treat, they’re absolutely wonderful and provide such a great moisturising creamy experience. Check out the online Soap Cafe.
Another eco-friendly store and a great place to find items such as shampoo bars, charcoal toothbrushes and menstrual cups. Go check them out.
4. Lucy Makeup Store
As excited as I get about discovering a new natural-focused brand, I could never live without the fun makeup brands that fill me with excitement. Lucy Makeup Store, has taken Malta by storm ever since opening up the first multi-brand makeup store in Malta, later launching the Makeup Festival and then following on with an even larger Lucy Store. The shop is now accepting orders through Facebook and delivering all the favourite Brands such as Revlon, Essence, Catrice, Technic, Revolution and many more.
A fully-fledged online store selling some of our favourite brands – GLOV (face glove, turbans, reusable discs), Sally Hansen, Lancaster, Max Factor, Thalgo and others. The best part is if you checkout using code CAROLINE, you get a free gift!
6. Franks Malta
Franks was one of the pioneers in bringing upmarket skincare and makeup brands to the island and they have a lovely online store that sells all of these products and brings them right to your door. There’s Guerlain skincare and makeup, Dior, Payot, Sisley…lots of lovely stuff. Check them out right here.
