So, as promised here’s my review of the vintage sale by Hey Birdie-pie! at the Soap Cafe. Hey Birdie-pie is headed by Lara Schembri.
I had the pleasure of meeting her at this event; she is very passionate and knowledgeable about vintage clothes in general and has a great sense of style. Also, her collection is awesome and full of well kept pieces, would be hard pressed to say they weren’t brand new if you hadn’t already been told.
What was interesting too, was that there were some pieces which had been reworked by different artists to obtain a different feel, like this skirt below, revamped by Sarah Micallef of Patches
One of the truly standout pieces was this 1920’s bridal cloche, apparently used to belong to the grandmother of a friend of hers, so beautiful.

It is so great to have vintage at decent prices in Malta, there’s so little of it around. I’m defintely going to be keeping my eyes out for all future events and here is her facebook page for anyone who wants to do the same Facebook Page.
