Brand Spotlight : Black Milk

In the 1950s, leggings first crawled their way into the world of fashion, only to exit a few year later; they then crawled back in for the purpose of gym sessions but were generally found as two separate pieces of garment, worn on each leg. They re-emerged in the fashion world mostly in stirrup form in the 90s only to be kicked out again when baggy sweaters lost their favour.

In 2005. a huge comeback was made and since then they’ve refused to leave; we now have leggings in all types of material, all kinds of patterns, different material thickness and the list goes on.

2005-2013 is an eternity in the fashion world and something had to change – which brought about the idea of highly original and creative leggings, basically the weirder the better – and the best store I have found of creative leggings is BLACK MILK. They are NOT just a legging store and you’ll find many other interesting items of clothing but this post is about their leggings :P. Their stuff is only available from their online store and it apparently has been like that since day 1. The owner/creator started out sewing everything himself and to this day everything is still made by the team themselves in Australia – this seems to be a really creative bunch of people !!!
