Shopping Post : Glitz, Lace and Prettiness For Spring at Miss Selfrdige

I decided to visit Miss Selfridge, one of this blog’s sponsors and see what delicious stock they’ve recently brought in.
There’s lots and lots of lace in the shop, and lots of pale pink, some frills and tulle and lots of pretty dresses. It’s quite a girly girl’s heaven.
I created two looks using the current stock in the Malta store. The first look combines lace and glitz for a chic but stylish look. The shorts are pretty but at the same time somewhat edgy especially due to the sharp fringing at the bottom. This edgy element takes the outfit somewhat out of the ‘cute’ category and into the stylish one.
This outfit is best suited on a younger person and *apologies* a thin person…shorts only look good on thin legs, and a bit of height helps too.

Girly Spring at Miss Selfrdige

This second outfit is a bit more retro, and a bit ‘older’ and less pretty. The mid-length skirt makes the outfit look a bit smarter and more polished. The top is somewhat cute and girly but the fact that is has peplum shape, when combined with the skirt , the whole outfit looks retro more than anything else. I’ve combined it with a studded bag for some edginess.
This outfit will suit a mid twenties – mid thirties woman and primarily an apple body shape – the peplum will hide some extra weight around the tummy and the neckline will suit a fuller bust. The arms are exposed at present but if you wish to hide them a shawl or little cardigan will be easy to add !!
