I recently spent a weekend at the Marina Hotel, Corinthia Beach Resort. When I feel tired and in need of a break, one of my tricks to re-energise is to change my surroundings. I feel that an occasional change scenery is really important for me. As a blogger, I find it hard to truly take a day off, social media and the internet tends to follow me around but a change in surroundings relaxes my mind and also helps my mental creative process flow better. Travelling is always my favourite solution but I can’t travel every weekend (damn), my second best option is what is now popularly termed as a ‘staycation’, which means having a vacation in your own country. I like to escape to hotels and spend a weekend or just an overnight stay, change of surroundings, being catered for, good food – it all feels great.
So right after fashion week, when I truly felt drained and my house literally looked like an explosion of clothes had just happened, I escaped to Marina Hotel, Corinthia Beach Resort, a truly lovely hotel with excellent service. I had a lovely suite with a sea view, lots of space, lots of light and a very comfy bed. The first day I just relaxed took a nap, spent some time outside on the terrace and then later that evening had a super meal at the newly opened Da Marina Pizzeria.
Next day was more food at breakfast, lots of bread, sweets and more yummy stuff followed by a lovely afternoon near the pool.
Things I love about this hotel
Location – I didn’t leave the hotel but it’s right in the centre of so many places, lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby.
Restaurants – The hotel itself has a great selection of restaurants on the actual premises.
Renting a Go Pro Camera – You can rent a go pro and take videos underwater – bundles of fun to be had.
Service – lovely and personal service without ever being overbearing.
Pool Area + Beach – This hotel has a lovely lido and also a rocky beach area where you can swim in the sea/rent a jet ski or little boats – or just lie on the sunbed.
Hopefully, this has tidied my bain over for the next couple of months – although I might be travelling again soon 🙂
