Whilst staying at the Cugó Gran Macina Grand Harbour I dined at Hammet’s Macina Restaurant. It is a great restaurant, a fine dining experience that offers both a tasting menu or a more traditional a la carte option. The menu is built around the concept of experiencing food, the dishes are portion as smaller than normal with the idea being that you sample multiple courses allowing you to enjoy and experience different tastes.
The decor is gorgeous, soft, ambient lighting, comfortable chairs and sofas and gorgeous tableware and marble tables. The service was also top notch.
We started off our meal with an aperitif and an amuse bouche.
We then had delicious plates of duck liver, smoked burata, stuffed tortellini and risotto.
Lamb and steak were next, the steak was in particular excellent, truly well seasoned and cooked rare to perfection.
